Makes me think of my 5 year old nephew. My brother's son is a mean little shit. He's already learning to throw things at people and kick and throw tantrums at a whim. He came down with a bad cold last week and I visited a short while to see how he was. While I was there, my sister in law mentioned needing to take my nephew's temperature. While my brother and I were talking, she went to the bathroom and came back through the living room on her way to my nephew's room. She had a glass thermometer in a red case and a foil packet of petroleum jelly, and I knew what was about to happen. My brother asked her a question and she briefly stepped out of my nephew's room to answer, and was holding up the rectal thermometer with a blob of Vaseline on the tip. She closed the door back, and a minute later I could hear my nephew crying his eyes out. Obviously the thermometer was up his rear and he wasn't happy about it. He carried on like that for about 3 minutes, then calmed down, probably because she took it out. She left his room and sat down with us in the living room. My brother asked "how high was it?" She said "101.6, it's coming down a little." my nephew is well as he can be this week....and no kicking, screaming, or throwing shit across the room. I wonder if that thermometer brought him down a notch? Either way, I wouldn't mind letting my sister in law humble me with her rectal thermometer, she's a pretty girl, and a nurse.
