how many of you can recall this.
i can recall being SOUND A SLEEP then the feel of the bed sort of bouncing AS MY MOM MAY SHE REST IN PEACE as SHE WOULD BE SHAKING DOWN THE THERMOMETER i would wake up and be told to pull my undies bown OR prentend i was still a sleep and feel her slip down my undies then insert the COOL thermometer

I remember this well. when i was 9 or 10 and in bed for a week with high fever and i to get rectal temps four times a day until my fever broke and then for awhile after that. mom and dad was very diligent about the four times a day, too. i dont think they ever missed a time. i protested the rectal temps at first, but i could see how worried they were about my high fever so i didnt protest anymore. it took them awhile after that before they would let me get my temp taken by mouth again, too.
