Thanks for posting.I read this piece before and it is a gem.It captures the essence of the procedure like nothing before it.I have written stories about rectal temps for other sites,but this "hits the nail on the head.".It a person never experienced a rectal temp before,this IS just what it's like.

That was a great story and kudos to you. I love having my temp taken that way ever since I was born. Do you still give yourself rectal temps just for fun? I do and I give them to my son whenever he is sick.

yes i love rectal temps and infatuated with taking a rectal temp on myself. I have two very nice glass rectal thermometers that i use all the time. When i was younger i looked forward to going to the doctor and having it taken rectally. I hate oral temps and find them uncomfortable. it's to bed there is such a stigma that people have about it taken in the bottom. I mean that's how gay people have sex and that seems to be ok with everyone now days. So why is rectal temps such a bad thing?

People are rigid, gullible, and opinionated. The majority want to be told what to do, and how to think. That's why rectal temps. and anything "anal" is still considered taboo. And then the religeous nuts label us as evil "sinners." Being an individual, and making your own decisions takes too much work. We have become a nation of apathetic couch potatoes.

Rectal temps are fun and can be stimulating. There are too much religious and morality issues that cause undo stigma in our society. Lets face it the anus has a bundle of nerves that feel just as good as other types of stimulous. I invite anyone who has not recieved a rectal temperature on themselves to go get it down. you'll see the difference and wonder why you never did it before. Trust me I'd get it done by anyone who is game.
