 I bought some of those awhile back. Brought back memories of my childhood and teens growing up in a military family and going to the doctor at Navy and Air Force hospitals and clinics.

They will get used every morning. I have a very low metabolism, which I am working on bringing up, and morning (basal - rectal) temperature is the best indicator.

Around 10 years ago, you could get incredible bargains on ebay, for the real thing. Now the bidding wars and sellers are getting ridiculous prices for the same thing. The only rectal thermometers that are reasonable are the newer, small-bulb versions from the 80's. Not as nice as the traditional thicker glass and pear-shaped bulbs. If you want one of those, expect to pay big bucks...and deal with seas of bidders.
