Hi Mandi .. I think that u r normal .. u don't have a fetish or something and also u r not a bad :) .. if u r comfort with it do it and of course it's the most accurate way to take the temp. and by the way .. iam a medical student and now i Assist an old doctor that take the temperature rectally from the children to teens .. cuz he belive that is the most accurate way .. but it's a little bit embarrassing :)

Hi, Mandi: You should not worry about about it. You're not weird, and you're not hurting anyone else. If you're sick with a fever and feel you need the most accurate temp reading, use a rectal thermometer.
When growing up, I used to get a strep throat infection about every other winter. Strep made my throat and swallowing soooo painful. Strep is sometimes accompanied by an elevated fever, so Mom kept me in bed until the meds kicked in and took my temp rectally. I never gave it much thought.
