 I had a similar experience with my pediatrician. However, this only happened during a housecall. If I had been to the office a day or two before and had come down with something, the doctor would check up on me at the house a day or two later. Even as a 16 or 17 year old he would have me lie over his lap to get my temperature taken and if my fever was still high he would give me a penicillin shot while in the same position. At the time this was how things were done and for some reason I never felt any embarassment towards the doctor. However, when I went to the office these procedures were carried out by the nurse with me lying on the table on my belly. When the nurse did this I felt very embarassed from the time I turned 12 until I was 18.
