I have seen the pictures - but I am not sure if there are also thermometers available in Germany with a Fahrenheit scale (used in America but unknown and therefor of no use for Europeans) instead of a Celsius scale (used in Europe but probably of no use for Amercans).

I don´t know, if Geratherm sells the thermometers with a Fahrenheit scale. But if you want to by a thermometer on the german (european) market, you will have to buy it with a celsius scale.
But no fear! :-) The normal temperature (37 °C) is marked in red or with a star on the scale. And I think it would be fun to take my temperature with a "foreign" thermometer. I would like to see my rectal temperature on a Fahrenheit scale... ;-)
