I think doctors came up with the idea of using paper on exam tables, who knows when but probably only in the last 60 years,to turn patients on to being naked on them, esp. kids. More doctors even pediatrittians use gowns and are concerned about feelings or modesty now so the paper and rectal thermometers we got when younger are less of an issue for the youth of today. Think about it this way; if medical people did not want to turn patients on, then why didnt they use the same type of paper that paper towels are made out of on exam tables, which is thicker but less erotic?
