I posed the question because I've known this woman for a number of years who swears (and I believe her) that growing up her father was the one who always took her temperature and it was always done rectally. She said whenever she was sick he was always the one, not her mom, who would come into her room with the thermometer and vaseline, make her pull down her pajamas or panties, take her temperature rectally. He did this up to the age of thirteen and then one last time when she refused to go to school at age sixteen. She said it was always very embarrassing but she did develop an r/t fetish out of it.
