 well i've never tried a pen,pencil,or really too many other things than an rt, a q-tip once,Im jus afraid of injury. My husband did do tha finger thing and his penis a few times but that seemed a little too uncomfortable. he also took my rectal temp reguarly. it felt good especiallyt when he would twist it and push and pull in and out. but recently i have discovered that a infant pacifire works pretty well. Ive tried a few types but my fav is the "soothie" brand. I can put it in and put my clothes back on without ne1 knowing that its there! then whenever i feel tha need for a sensation its there!

I have used the soil test meters probes found in the garden section of the big box stores. It is about 8" long, and the tip is rounded for painfree insertion. Although you don't get a temp reading, you can still get the rectal penetration experience. If temping solo, attach a string, and clothespin from a ceiling light, or overhead fixture. This is to keep the probe steady for insertion, and prevents hard upward pressure from the attached box meter.
