 For me too. My rectal temps were always taken like the one on the lower right, bare feet held up by mom while inserting the thermometer. It is one of my earliest memories looking up to my bare feet while getting my temp taken.

Once I was out of diapers my mom give me a choice. Over her lap or on my back in that position. I still picked on my back. It felt better.
