Does anyone remember an episode from "Quincy, M.E." where toward the end of the show, there were two stewardesses who had just returned from overseas and because of some outbreak, "Quuincy" was involved, and had to take their temperatures, and the inference being that they needed theirs taken rectally! And Sam his trusty side-kick was not allowed to participate. He was very saddened. Anyway I ask, because I just read a post about a RN giving a rectal temp to a stewardess and the "Quincy" episode came to mind.

Hi Rich,
I can't recall the episode you mention.I do remember some from M.A.S.H-where references are made to "rectal thermometers" and Loretta Swit could be seen holding up a glass mercury thermometer with a rounded bulb to read a patients temperature.

Yes I do remember that episode. But as I recall the verbal inference that the stewardesses would get an r/t was not matched by anything visual. But it would be fun to watch again anyway.

Thanks Danny-
You're correct if memory serves me right. No visual reference other than Quincy bringing the two stewardesses into a treatment area. But I do remember Sam being quite disappointed at not being in on it!
