I thought I was getting sick one night as I felt kind of warm. He said it wouldn't be a good idea to go to classes the next day if I was running a fever. Neither one of us had a thermometer, so he went knocking on doors on the dorm floor to try to get one. He came back 15 minutes later and announced he had good news and bad news. The good news was that he borrowed a thermometer; the bad news was that it was rectal. It was the only one he could get. It sort of shocked me but, being roommates, we had seen each other naked before. He told me to lie down on my belly. I watched him shake down the thermometer and put on the vaseline. He took down my underpants and put it in. I had a slight fever. I took some tylenol that night and the next morning he took my temperature again. Besides, tenps vary at various points of the day. I don't even regard 99 orally as a slight fever. Anything 100 and above orally is considered a fever and anything 100.4 rectally is considered a fever. [ Post a Reply to This Message ]
