I wonder if I was born a decade or two earlier if I would have had more experiences like this. Getting regular rt's at the doctor's office by nurses, seems like it's their job and not the actual doctor. Had them enough outside the doctor I guess, with the exception of one time (which I briefly mentioned in another thread.)

I can vividly remember getting a shot in the butt at the Children's clinic when I was probably only about 2 or 3 years old. And it hurt the worst of any shot I've ever had in my life. A young nurse with short black hair came in and started checking me out. My legs were raised and I felt a rectal thermometer, which I hated. She stuck it up there so far I felt like I had to poop. After she took it out the discomfort went away. Then I saw her loading up a syringe from a glass bottle. I didn't really know what she was doing, but the next thing I knew my my Mom raised my legs again and the nurse wiped my left buttcheek with alcohol. Then came a red hot burning sensation and I started screaming and crying bloody murder. That hurt! Mom held me as I cried my eyes out because my ass was on fire! The intense burning finally melted away into a throbbing, aching warmth. I was sore for a few days afterward. I believe the shot the nurse gave me was the MMR vaccine. My wife says those are among the worst, but they've improved the formula somewhat to lessen the burning pain that I suffered in the early 80s.
