Jennifer I think your completely right. The only way to truely know if you like rectal temperatures is to try it. I can be for fun or for medical purpose. It is a unforgetable feeling. The cold feel of the glass thermometer as it is pushed into your bottom and the tingle it brings is sensational. I agree with you in saying that who is taking the temperature really determines how good it will feel. They have to be gentle, letting your bottom take the thermometer, not forcing it in there and they have to use good lube. If this is all done properly then the experience will be a good one.

Rectal temperatures aren't uncomfortable at all for most adults.... as long as it's done properly. All you need is ample lube and gentle handling, and you'll barely feel it go in. As a kid I hated having my rectal temperature taken, especially by the girl at the doctor's office. And I always pitched a fit to prove it. She tended to stick the thermometer in too far, or so it felt. But when you're a little kid, a gentle 1.5" insertion with a slender thermometer feels like what a whopping 4" insertion with a thick enema nozzle would for an adult.
