 Is this a good idea to get my mom to be a little more nurturing and caring?
well i would like to say mom i am sick, and her say go to bed i will be in soon, then she comes in and says ok i need to take ur temp, so please strip from waist down and lay over my lap, so i can take ur temp rectally, then she would say lay still it will only take 5 minutes, while she is taking my temp we can talk which we have some trouble doing. then after it is done she will tell me my temp, and then she would tell me i can get up and take it easy, then she would take my temp every 2-3 hours.

so is this a good way to get my mom to be more nurturing and caring? and if it is a good idea how can i get her to do it?

How old are you? And if she hasn't done this before, there's a good chance she won't now.

i am a yound adult richard, and no she never did this before but i am hoping that maybe one day she will do this as a favor to me, she is not very nurturing or caring to me at all and i am hoping that by doing this that she will become more nurturing adn caring.

mandi-I doubt if asking your mom to take your r/t will work. But you can try just talking to her-that might help. If you find yourself in an intimate relationship, you may be able to incorporate some r/t into it. Good luck.

Mandi, I am also a young adult and I think you may be past the stage of your mother taking your rectal temperature. However as Danny said talking is always a good start. Is it getting a rectal temp form your mother your aim in this ?

Thats true Mandi. Have you considered that your mother may see you as a mature young lady and that you are able to look after yourself. Im sure if you were very sick she would be very concerned. For me anyway unless its a bad illness im pretty much left to my own devices to sort myself out.

i guess AJ, but when i get sick i become a baby and liek to be lay around adn cuddled adn be babied, in a way. so that is why i thought of this idea. so if u have any ideas on how i can get her to do it that would be great. i am shy and am a little embarressed to ask her straight out so kinda to beat aroudn th bush and ask her

I understand where your coming from Mandi. Asking a parent about anything below the belt is always very embarrissing and awkward. I think it really is one of those situations where you need to be smart about what you say if you attempy to bring it up in conversation. Feel free to email me and we can try thrash out some ideas if you like.

Well mandi, there is no clear cut way to ask your mother about this. Its going to be awkward for the best part. However I think your best chance is just to ask her next time the chance arises

see that is the thing AJ we do not have a good talking relationship and jsut asking her would be awarkard and embarrassing for me to just come out and ask. i was kinda hoping to beat aroudn the bush. one friend told me to do it and hope that she walks in on me, and another one say ask her to take ur temp then when she is gone undress and lay on ur tummy and have ur butt in the air. idk if i like those ideas so much. see the thing is my mom never takes my temp usually i take it. so maybe if we can 1st come with an idea to get her to take it and second come up with a few ideas to get her to take it rectally that would be great. so any input u got is great. thanks for the help, u can e-mail me at percioustiger@yahoo.com if u do not want to put ur ideas here. once again thanks for the help

well AJ, I guess u can say that. i guess i want my mom to take temp rectally because i am wanting her to be more nurturing and caring. i guess my reasoning behind this is because when i am sick, my mom never notices that i am sick, and therefore she never takes my temp, so maybe if i got her to take my temp rectally then she will more nurturing and caring to me. i really do not think it is weird or a bad thing for my mom to take my temp rectally. some people might get grossed out about it, but why, i mean she is my mom, and i want her to be more nurturing and caring so i figured this would be a good way to get her that way

How old are you Mandi? Age may have something to do with it. There's nothing gross about it? When you are sick, taking your temperature should be the first step your mom should take to determine if in fact you are sick or coming down with something as the old saying goes.How did you feel when she took your temp. that way? Some daughters find it offensive. Sam
