 I am 20. This happened 5 weeks ago. I don't think it's policy but then again I have never had my temperature taken this way. I guess I'm just angry right now. I'm just seeking accurate information but I might not find any here. this site seems like a fetish and fantasy site. I guess I have to deal with it on my own because it's too embarrassing to confide in family and friends.

Hi, Melinda...

Did anyone explain to you WHY they needed to take your temp rectally? My mom is an RN with 30+ years working in hospitals. I had her read your initial post. She couldn't figure why unless you were also on oxygen, had other medical indicators that discouraged oral monitoring, or there was some sort of (outdated) protocol in your unit.
