Well Cyndi J, now that you're a big girl you couldn't be scared of the little bity rectal thermometer. Today, you'd probably enjoy the feel of the cool well lubed glass thermometer sliding in between your cheeks and going into your bottom. It's probably the pinch of the needle poking your fanny when you were a cute little girl is what you were afraid.

For me, it was a combination of both. I had both done at the same time at our pediatrician's when I was five and the sting of the needle was what I associated with getting an r/t. Then when I had an r/t taken at our neighborhood doctor's two years later, minus any shots in the rump, I was amazed at how good it felt. While I never had another r/t at the doctor's after that, that single experience planted the seeds of my r/t fetish.
