The only time I ever felt squeamish about an r/t was the last time I had it taken at the doctor's. I was seven and had a traumatic experience at our pediatrician's two years before when I was given a shot in the rump followed right away by an r/t. I must have associated the sting of the needle with the thermometer and cried the whole time it was registering. They made an exception and switched me to oral before the normal cutoff, which was seven.
I was afraid it would hurt the way it did two years before, but much to my surprise it didn't hurt at all once the thermometer was inserted. It felt wonderful and I was riveted to the sensation. That started my fetish which continues to this day. The one thing I regret is that I never asked for an r/t at the doctor's after that. It would have been interesting to see if such a request would have been granted.
