I have copies of the American Top 40 Worldwide Listening Directories for 1981-1982 and 1983-1984. The directories provide cities, station call letters, AM/FM frequencies and days/times for AT40 broadcasts. There are approximately 500-600 actual radio stations worldwide listed in each directory. At the end of each directory there is a mention that the program is also heard on "the worldwide facilities of the American Forces Radio Service." But there is no mention of how many AFRS facilities.
