Subject: Current Station countings

Thanks for the clarifications David.
I see we missunderstood eachother on the station move within show formats of WW1. So if you've counted only CT40 stations, you are right: They've lost 50%
due to the fact that Mainstream Top 40 radio went down on an absolute lowpoint in the 90's. But since they held almost the same total number of stations counting all 3 shows, that was OK for the producers .... I guess !

With your guess of currently 160 to 180 you are probably a bit too optimistic. Due to the fact, that Casey shows have a market exclusivity, there is no big room for growing since 1998. I believe the number of around "118" sounds possible, still today. You can find a list of stations on www.geocities.com/casey488/

This list in not up to date !!! It includes stations wich have currently moved to AT20 Hot, like KSSR and a number of others. Also the international outlets are not up to date.
Some stations are listed twice, wich are operating as one.

I do my own station listings for about 10 years or so. If you calculate 4 x 3 station mentions every week, you come up with a rotation of 12 weeks for naming each station. But sometimes there is only 3 times mentioning stations in each show .....
You can check it by yourself: Pick one - like "OZ-FM" for instance - and see how often it is named during the year.
You'll never come up with 160-180, even if you add a tolerance of +10 stations, wich are not named ( for what reason ever )........
