Wow, Jeff...GREAT story! And a cool coincidence!

I remember listening to AT40 for the first time as a kid too. Also on AM radio...WNBC out of New York City (660 AM). I remember the week in 1982 or 1983 when the show moved from WNBC to WPLJ (95.5 FM). I was heartbroken when I tuned in WNBC only to not find Casey. I was at my Dad's house. I remember my Mom calling when she found an ad for AT40 in the local paper saying "Now on WPLJ." I think I got to hear the last hour or two that week.
