I am pretty sure after readin' a couple forum posts and some Google search that it's likely a Colt sent to ASM sold by ASM with the Colt address on it and all mating numbers as was on the Colts Colt sold only a higher series of numbers ... probly ASM Stamped but numbered at a higher sequence. Don't sell it Thumper it may be worth 2x it's bought price.(sumfin I read a couple days ago) As far as I'm concerned it's a Colt with no letter or tracable SN...
