I hardened the hammer and trigger after the trigger job....then spiffed up the buggered screws some. Made a difference I'd say. Just a nice old gun. Feels like the originals I've fondled. Just has that feeling about it.Pic next page.

If all sellers, wholesalers, distributors, and manufactures felt the way this one does, the gun owners of California would get all anti gunners out of office the very next election.

I was watching "Crossfire Trail" the other night and Willford Bramley had a 28+ rnd lever action called the Evans Repeater. Never heard of it? Me neither. It had up to a 34 rnd capacity made in 1870. Check this out.

Yepers,I said Army Colt. The Centaures just seem like originals to me. The feel is there. Might all be in my head but so what. ha ha ha
Tested the gun and seemed like the trigger got lighter as the shooting went on. Found rounded and maybe messed with sear and tumbler (trigger and hammer) parts. On to the bench I go.
I just thought a picture is worth a thousands words and my shoulder hurts too much to type a lot. Pic next page.I hope.

Why are there no bar stools at the bars in saloon's, in every western movie I have ever seen?
What & why? If'n you fall down they know when to shut you off..?

Why are there locks on doors to places open 24/7..?

And (it just happened now) why does my shoelace tie into a knot when I go to untie it..?
(This one irks me the most!)

My Dixie Gun Works Uberti Dragoon arrived. It's finished nice except for a bunch of handling marks on the back strap. I wish they had spent more time on the mechanics. The action is going to take some work (when cylinder locks up full cock notch is not engaged) and two bullet chambers show a small amount of cylinder face metal when you shine a light down the bore. Not enough to send back I guess, but not as good as any of my other guns here. Also, just looking at it, the bullet chambers look smaller than the bore. Probably an optical illusion. One way or another I'm going to have to make this one work, so I can shoot the crap out of it.

Well, I have to take this toy apart and check some stuff. think I'll relax and watch a DVD first, ha, ha. Maybe I'll have to send it to you-know-who to have it Waynerized and put straight, ha, ha.

Guess what!!! The Colt Python is not on the approved list of handguns in California. The silver or nickel or stainless one is, but the blue one isn't!

I won't be able to get the item registered. I have to cancel the sale!!!

OK...I'm in big trouble now. Thank god for an understanding wife. Check out gunbroker #142651154. I bought a Colt Python. Just had a boner for one, y'know? Plus, I think the price is pretty good. They're going for $1200 and more. This one was only $700. (listen to me!!!ONLY $700....sheesh!) Anyway, I figured if I had to, I could probably sell it. The serial number makes it from 1977. I would have preferred the walnut grips, maybe someday. It isn't black powder or even old west, but it is collectible.

By the way AFTER I bought the Python, I went to my gunshop to check on getting an FFL transfer done. It'll cost me $85. He had an original 1849 Pocket with a longer barrel, maybe 6". It was only $550.

Anyone want to buy my Uberti 1849 pocket for $250, plus shipping? Then I'll go get the original.

Hey, I'm just doing my part to keep the economy goin'! However, MY economy is going right into the toilet!!

I brought the ROA to the range yesterday. It was shooting all over the place. I noticed that the rear sights were all out of alignment. I adjusted them and shot again, and again, a process that takes some time. Then I shot from the bench. Shooting a ROA with 40 grs of BP from a bench is not as comfortable as shooting a .36 from the bench. Not much fun at all.
Anyhoo, I think I'm a fan of fixed sights. The gun shoots to the left, aim to the right.
What say you? Or as they say in Boston, whadda yooos guys say?

This little pips-queek, appropriately named "Mouse", decided to test our appreciation for her after 8yrs and contracted Lymphomic Cancer.

I can always get great guns, but great dog's are hard to come by and we've started chemo on her. Win lose or draw, we're going to complete the treatment and since it ain't cheap I'm selling some pistola's. I'm offering them here 1st and GB at the start of next week if no takers.
1. 2nd Gen 1860, w/ holster and a 2nd Gen spare cylinder. Comes complete w' box & papers. $700.00
2. Pietta SS 1858 Remmie w/ spare cylinder. $300.00
3. Antiqued Uberti Walker w/ one of my brass lever retainers (so it doesn't drop when firing. $300.00
I'll send pic's naturally. By the way, I take care of my gun's as well as I do my dogs & horses (and wife LOL) !!!!

I always wanted one. Hey Smokin Gun, did you shoot yours? How did you like it? I assume the design isn't real durable if shot a lot, but it gets points for hog-leg looks, ha, ha. Now I need to sell some things.

We Had a Colt Sheriff .44 makin' cans fly by Jessie James ... a Rem 1858 Buffalo Rev 10" .44 & his .22 C&B North American Arms Derringer 5 shot minnie rev. CRash's...
I shot off my 1861 Remington Old Army .44 today about five cylinders worth...
I forgot all my lube pills in the fridge ...[damn]
Loaded the first Cylinder naked with 28gr obf fffg Goex BP...din't bring .457" balls either used .454" & no lube pills...
First round first shot fired from my 147 year old Remington :O) ...chain fire first shot, and it din't surprize me, but I witnessed it along with three other guys. It was the chamber end the chamber after the one I fired had gone off too. (left of the hammer as if aiming the Rev.)
Din't hurt nothin' barely noticed it, one a my friends left the shed... LoL!
I had brought a shitload of .44" eggcart cards and used them to prevent further chainfires... and it worked :O)
I was poppin' bean cans at 25 yards killin' creamer bottles and makin' Thunder in the Desert...
Shot four cyl. in my Belgian Waynerized/Rebuild Centaur SN767 ... All I can say is That M1860 Shoots sweet...caps were being' difficult in it as far as jammin' some goes but that was it this Colt is ready for Rabbitssss.
Shot that Uberti 1851 Navy .36 and it did shoot good today ... and i guess i must a shot it better also ...
We all had a great time Keith has now been indoctrinatred as a Lord of Soot ... we'll see ifin he returns.
