Ignore your DA.

Ok, so what did he say?
I talked to Ted "?" in St. Petersburg, Florida. He's not very nice about it, but adheres to the rule as it is written in the rule book. Our DA and opponants have talked to everyone from here to Williamsport. They have all shut up and just let us play.

from all indications, if they have

The rule was a failure, even before the courts became involved. LL said it was to avoid over use injuries, which I can see. But it did force people to make a choice. LL believed they would choose it, but they voted against LL with their feet and left. LL lost players, officials, and entire leagues in softball and baseball, from recreational to "A" level nationally. IMO, with the already growing, wide spread popularity of other organizations, LL will not want to risk that again.
The only way I can think of right now that LL can stop people from joining other orgs is to have them sign contracts. This is TEEBALL not MLB! And what can they do if a 6 year old wants to remain a "free agent".

my main concern is that the kids from our area,
>enjoy playing little league with their friends but
>they also enjoy the competiton of travel ball and
>seeing and meeting other players form different areas.
> little league should not punish kids for being on
>travel ball to better their skills.

Some people just "out grow" LL. Sounds like you may be having some growing pains of your own.
