Because clearly he was taking preemptive credit for his policies keeping unemployment down. Had it worked, he would be taking credit and I wager you'd be giving it to him.
So which is it?
I know of no economists, not even those within the administration, predicting unemployment below 9% before the election.
So how is that good for Obama?

Lastly, voters now trust republicans over democrats on the economy 49% to 37%. Sounds to me like this is Obama's economy and voters think it sucks.
