Subject: LOL, not new to this (& not OP), but you must be if you think these issues come up every year.
In reply to: or your would've known 's message, "ALL of this comes up almost every year with events held in the US. Same issues, stages, scheduling, judging, tabulations. It's nothing new. Since the regions rotate hosting, each committee thinks it knows best to run and seem to forget the pitfalls of previous committees. However, OP, thanks, you seem new to this," on 07:21:15 07/11/21 Sun

12 NAIDC/Nationals and have NEVER experienced stages to poorly constructed and downright unsafe. It was so bad I gave my WQ my blessing if she didn't want to go back for her third round (She finished all rounds and WQ again).

Never have we seen so many tabulation errors. Our studio sent seven dancers with five recalls. None of the placements were the same after recalculation. Fortunately for my daughter, she was WQ before and after recalculation, but what a mess for the one dancer in her competition who lost her WQ spot and for the top five who juggled their positions (except 1st and 2nd). One dancer competed Thursday and even SHE found her rank changed after the fact. She didn't WQ, but she went down a position. This. Should. Not. Still. Have. Been. Happening.

We have never been in a venue where there were no food options available for purchase except dessert items when dancing was still going on. But then again, most of the NAIDC/Nationals we have attended were in hotel convention centers and there were sit-down restaurants.

Judging, OK, you will get the complainers. Some prefer rotating panels of 3 and some prefer larger fixed panels with dropped hi/low scores. We prefer rotating panels, but fixed panels are OK too. Makes little difference, and shouldn't be such a big deal. Some people are impossible to please.
