Author: too much for you? don't go
Subject: Seems like you might be one of those who do try to undercut the rules in place. It's not what you play it out to be, if you play by the rules. You stay in the block, you have the wristbands, regardless of color, shape, or size. There's no fleecing; those hotel rates are almost half of regular, if you were to vacation there. That's being prudent.
In reply to: Back off. 's message, "Got something invested in this fleecing? A day at NANS should. It be the same price as a day at Disneyland. I don't blame people for trying to be prudent with their money." on 21:05:32 05/27/17 Sat

No-one is forcing anyone to attend. It is a choice, after all, isn't it?

Thankful for the rates or else we wouldn't be able to afford.

If you wish to stay at some cheap-rate lodgings, and there are many there (and with cheap comes all sorts of "other" problems) - then you can well-afford the out of block rate, 'cause they come out the same, don't they?

Fleecing? Far from it. The regions hosting don't get anything off the rooms or anything else. Have run similar events for other organizations, the organization is lucky to break even with these things. Those block rooms keeps everything fair for all who attend, and the hotels pay into the ballrooms - those are the companies getting the money - not your ID organization.

Laughing at your comment, not only do you have to pay exorbitant fees to stay at Disney - lodgings, food, transportation - THEN they hit you for the parks fee - and you can't just get all for one, reasonable price per day, no, you have to pay on top of the hotel and its far more than the out of block fee.

The bottom line is, if you don't like the costs, then don't go. Or better yet, quit, because this, like any other kids' sport at a high level, is expensive. Period. Open your eyes, it's no different than any other travel team, squad, or whatever. At least these organizers did get something that was reasonable and had offerings from a variety of places to stay and none or cut-rates, cheap-o places.

All they ask is that you follow the rules.
