Subject: Looking at dresses online, but I am confused about the length measurements. HELP!

Some of the dresses we look at say that the "dress is perfect for dancer of x height". Originally I was using that as a gauge to make sure I had my measurements correct in what I was looking at. But the other day I noticed that a dress we liked had the same measurements as what I thought we needed - but stated "Dress is perfect for dancer about 5'5" tall". However, another dress with the same length measurement stated "Fit best when dancer was 5'1 to 5'2" tall". I am sure this is a stupid question, but how is it possible that the same dress length would be perfect for 2 totally different heights? This is our first time buying a dress online - and now I don't even trust my measurements. When your dancer was 5'1 what length dress did they have?
