Subject: Parents and TCs; As we let the dust settle after NANs, celebrate the successes, and figure out how to improve those areas that need work, it would be so great if

we all find time to review and discuss our dancer's social media use with them? I have seen wonderful posts celebrating personal successes, and classy posts about having new goals when results are not what one had hoped. Some funny, some dramatic, and some pure disappointment, but all still respectful and kind. Unfortunately, I have also seen seen some truly disappointing posts, from temper tantrums and slung mud by world medal holders to parents celebrating the failure of dancers they don't like. I think is a great time for all of us, parents and TCs alike, to encourage our dancers to keep it classy online, to address the poor sportsmanship that these posts present, and especially to get the point across to us all that, no matter how private your instagram account is or how many people you block from seeing a FB post, once you hit enter it can and will be saved and shared around the world and will reflect poorly on you and your school. Emotions run high during these events; it would be great if we all used this time of celebration and recovery to make our kids, and even ourselves, the best representatives of our schools and sport.

Please don't use this post to call out those bad posts, we all really don't need a listing of the sad stuff that's been seen. ;-)
