Author: it's a city
Subject: Since when have the NANS provided shuttles from hotels to venue*? Can't remember a one. It's a city, what did you expect? Not flaming, just pointing the obvious. Unrealistic and narrow world perspective complaint.
In reply to: lying across sidewalk 's message, "Alright, I'll answer, although I doubt it will help, as it seems any comments other than glowing reviews get flamed here. No, I had no idea we were going to have this problem before we arrived. Yes, it is within the scope of the event because we were in the block and there was no shuttle service. It was a surprise to encounter this on our walks." on 21:54:43 07/14/17 Fri

A city is a city, regardless. In the size and scope of the US, being in the top 50 "cities" would include all that encompasses what is found in a city and that includes homeless, indigenous populations and more so, in warmer climates.

So, guessing the homeless there don't know the protocol of laying parallel to buildings? And, that, too, is a fault of the committee - they didn't brief the homeless (found in any of the top 50 cities in the US) to be sure to lay parallel to buildings.

You had a miserable, awful time, and you seem to want to demand that we did, too, although for pretty much everyone there, that is far from the case, we get it, you want the rest of us to be just as miserable. You can't seem to accept that others actually had a great time, even with their own (minor) issues - they got past them. You haven't.

But why are you trying to diminish the event? What is your agenda? Did your dancer not do as well as you expected? Do you not want to do any of this, so you pick fault at what is beyond the committee's control in an effort to have an excuse not to continue? What is your agenda? Not getting it, sorry.

*btw. There have been individual instances where individual hotels did provide courtesy shuttles - on their own - to the venue. THAT has occurred, but the committees have not really done this for many years. You could have arranged your own transportation, like others did. Personally, we arranged short taxi rides, especially on the days our dancers were dancing, to avoid the heat, even in the morning. The rest of the time, going back and forth, we made use of the trollies when we could. There were alternatives as well you know.
