Author: % could work if capped.
Subject: But a percentages doesn't cap entries. Entries could still be in excess of 150 at the world championships. Passing over WMH ensures that stronger regions are not disadvantaged. 10th in one region could be better than 1st in another. Passing over WMH means that 10th may still get a qualifying spot.

  • There's no real way to make it completely fair. I think there should be a cap number like no more than 10 qualifiers plus WMH or something like that. It would be a tough adjustment, but it is a world championship. What other sport qualifies so many for their worlds? Yes, it can be unfair for larger regions, but that's just life.
