Subject: Completely agree with this. When the US regions were made there were not as many dancers here. Things are different now. The regions should be split significantly to bring them in line with the rest of the world.
In reply to: Fun to discuss this! 's message, "I'd say, unless straight percentage, rest of worlds nationals should be combined to make size more similar. Regions should be redrawn too, to make sizes of comps more uniform. Otherwise small regions have huge advantage over large ones." on 08:41:22 07/27/17 Thu

  • How do smaller regions have an advantage over larger regions? MidAtlantic Region is only 3.5 states, but has probably the highest number of dancers compared to other regions. (NT) -- observation, 11:13:31 07/27/17 Thu
  • Divide so that number of competitors is more similar to rest of world. Mid America my dd's age had 164 in her age group. (NT) -- Wq too few for comp size, 13:07:13 07/27/17 Thu
  • If the rule were top 10 qualify as AP suggested, then smaller regions have an advantage, because a much larger percentage of their dancers would qualify. That is why straight percentage is the only really fair way. (NT) -- jmo, 16:58:35 07/27/17 Thu
  • It's not so much about geographical size but rather the number of dancers in each region. -- CLRG have certainly done well, 04:41:57 07/28/17 Fri
