Subject: Here's the breakdown as we see it. Based on those who have attended all three.

CRC is ideally suited for younger dancers who are working on technique and want the element of Camp fun. It's a way to have fun meet people enjoy dancing and still be a kid because of all the camp activities included.

Studio2stage is better suited for dancers 14 or so through 17. It's a step up from a camp experience. But again you still learn new material and you put on a show at the end of it. Dancers get to get an idea of what it would be like if working on a show. There are some fun activities. But not like what they would see at CRC.

Riverdance is not a camp. It is pretty much strictly all show material. Only about three numbers maybe four numbers from the actual show are worked on repetitively over the week sometimes they work on up to five numbers. There are no other outside activities except for maybe a tour at Trinity College or something along that nature. At the end there is a Showcase of the dances. And dancers who attend are generally in at least two numbers. There are no frills to Riverdance it is really strictly dancing. Show technique is worked on but beyond that other dance technique is not. Dancers are expected to be of good strength and stamina and understand the level of work expected. This experience is more suited for older dancers ideally those who are 18 and up however they have opened it up to younger dancers and this is why some people aren't really sure of the overall experience and the value of it.

None of these are guarantee to get into a show or further experience. However the Riverdance situation is for sun dancers who request it, an audition for the week. For the Riverdance producers to size up the dancers. Studio2stage does not offer that and the end result for CRC and studio2stage and Riverdance is that dancers really need to be over 18 to be even considered for any type of a show. Just attending any of these as a teenager does not put you on the radar for show either.
