Subject: Balance was the key word for us when my DD hit junior year. But. like others have said
In reply to: Looking for suggestions 's message, "DD is entering her junior year and is starting to worry about balancing dance and school. We have talked to her about cutting back for this year. She's worried she will lose her edge (not a WQ but wants to be). Any advice on how your dancer handled their junior year?" on 05:16:24 08/03/17 Thu

Your DD may surprise you and may already have much of it under control. Just watch for her stress signals and if she gets overwhelmed and find ways to help her focus on one thing at time.

Junior year was actually my DD's best year in dance and school. We'll see how my DS does as he is entering his junior year and I see his schedule quickly filling up and school hasn't even started!

  • Junior year was tough but was able to get through it with a high grades and practicing every day. It also depends on the school and the workload. Sometimes my dancer would practice in the morning before school and would do HW during lunch so that there was time to dance later in the day. Just stay focused and create a schedule!
