Subject: To all of the above, the post said that it is NOT done as a regular thing; however, it does exist. There is no specific rule against it. TCs do have discretion, but for the majority, they don't use it.
In reply to: No rush! 's message, "I have seen dancers get multiple wins in PC and never placed in OC. If a dancer can't get two wins in PC, there chances of doing well in OC are very slim. The awards aren't any nicer in OC, so the only advantage to being in OC over PC is automatic qualification for Regionals and NANs and maaaaaaybe doing the NAFC belt championships." on 14:13:42 08/03/17 Thu

What happens is that people like the all of you get all high an mighty about it. It's why they put in those requirements to quiet the likes of your types down.

You folks are unreal and need to get a grip on things. TCs make the call. TCs don't have to ask permission to do what they do. Period. If a TC feels a dancer is ready for a level, then the TC will put the dancer there. Period.

Does this happen often? NO. just like the poster said. It occurs only in rare occasions, but it can happen. Not your call to make to decide it's wrong or whatever, because there is no rule against it. All the rules say is that a dancer needs to move on achieving the firsts, there is nothing about other circumstances. And that is the discretionary aspect.

The end of all of this is -- don't worry what others are doing, worry only about your own dancer.
