Some transfers go very smooth and friendships remain. Others are not as nice or cordial. If you feel your dd may get some negative looks or backlash when she sees old classmates it might be best to go to a feis without dancing first. This way she can get it over with and not have it upset her on her first feis back dancing. Hopefully instead of upsetting her it will reinforce why she left and give her that last little push to come back stronger than ever.
Hopefully this isn't the case. I think going to feis to cheer on friends is great. I have always felt that there is so much more to ID than just competing. There is friendships, sportsmanship etc.
