You could go to 20 out of your own region feiseanna and your dancer not even come close to placing first. That can run a whole bunch of money and time for you.

Really scratching head over this kind of a post.

There is no real "easier" region out there anymore, to think that is naive and somewhat childish. Fifteen to twenty years ago, that may have been the case for a couple of 'new' regions, but now? They are all a pretty much the same footing, talent and strength-wise of dancers.

There are some age groups that may be stronger in some regions than in others, and then again, maybe not. There is no hard and fast rule for this.

You should check with your TC and see what he/she wants. There are TCs out there who feel if your dancer is capable of gaining first, then they should acquired in the region. Your TC will be your best guide for this and don't presume you know better. The TC will also know your chances of getting a first outside of the region, too. Realistically? If your dancer can't achieve this in your own region, the odds of doing it in another are also pretty slim.

In the end, this also comes across as pretty arrogant on a public message board with a post such as this. It's as if you discredit other regions and absolutely expect your dancer to get a first in another region on the incorrect presumption that another region may be easier - or since you do not say it is your dancer - you are trying to discredit another dancer (child) who may have gotten a first or two out of your region and you are either jealous or want to bring that family down for doing so. Either way, it's really childish as said up above.

Just remember, there are no guarantees in life, and there are no guarantees in Irish dancing competitions.

All the best in seeking out those magical firsts for your dancer.
