Subject: Actually this makes sense to me. Once dress has been altered by original owner it greatly lowers the re-sale value and probably only buys the original dancer a few more months. Selling in unaltered condition allows the new owner to alter as necessary. The more a dress has been altered, the lower the value - they never look exactly the same again.
