Subject: I sold one to a dancer in Australia 3 yrs ago. Here's what we did...

So I had them send the money via Western Union. Once I received the money, then I shipped the dress. The most cost effective way to send the dress was via the USPS. I packed the dress in a garbage bag, and then used a tri-fold science fair board from Hobby Lobby - their overlap more than other kinds and are cheap too! Cut the length so there is not extra. Yes, it's fay in the middle, but overall not too bad. Tape it more than you'd think you should. Every side seam, tons thru the middle where it closes and then around the other direction too. You can get a very close estimate for cost on the USPS website. I was selling my dress for $1000, and with the size of the "box", it cost approx $85 to ship there.
