Subject: Overexaggerated turnout and cross is overrated I think. If a dancer's legs are tiny and that dancer is trying harder to turn out and cross, then they just end up looking uncomfortable and with an awkward reverse knee gap. I've seen dancers going for toe-to-toe cross and it just looks weird.
