Subject: In my experience with my DD, the time of year can make a difference. (more inside)
In reply to: concerned mom 's message, "My DD has been injured for several weeks. Being unable to dance has her feeling depressed and uninterested. Seems almost unmotivated to get better. She has several weeks before she can get back on the dance floor. Anyone have experience with this, and if so, how can I help her?" on 08:59:18 09/18/17 Mon

The closer the injury was to Oireachtas or Nationals the more traumatic it felt emotionally. My DD felt that with each passing day she was falling farther behind. When she had injuries around "off times" she managed them much more effectively. Your dancers age may factor in as well. Once they hit high school with all the pressures and commitments, it makes them contemplate where dance fits. There are so many factors.
