Subject: How about you doing this at your feis, then? Most feis organizers have more than enough to do without adding "one more thing" to their plate and adding man power. Frequently what seems "so simple" really isn't in the whole scope of things.

At check in- you will need at least one, possibly two people - and since people arrive throughout the day, these will have to rotate in and out because they will have dancers. That adds even more people.

Then, let's consider at the stage - where? front, side, behind? What size of a space to be roped off? Five feet? Ten feet? Do you put the area next to the line up ? In front of parents watching? Behind the judges?

What about those stages that abut each other as some feiseanna have? Where do you put this roped off area for videotaping those stages in the middle? Or are those families expected to go to the sides of the other stages with those parents videotaping? And then what? Is that fair to those?

And how do you monitor those going in and out and how long to stay? There's more people to monitor this. And of course, you will have to rotate them throughout the day to allow parents to go and take care of their own dancers.

Maybe you don't realize that there are regions whose feiseanna may have 5, 6, 7, 8 or even 9 stages. What then? Now, you have to add even more manpower to monitor this for each stage, and you have to consider how to set up this roped off area for every stage to keep it equitable, right?

What about those venues that barely have room for a stage, where then?

So, before you jump and say it's so easy, you have to consider all the possibilities that can - and do exist for something like this.

But, hey - give it a shot at your feis and let us know how it goes.
