Subject: No kidding and the non-dancing Irish are digusted.

We were getting pictures taken after DD finished dancing at All Irelands three years ago, and a man approached me to let me know her dress was NOT Irish. He was visibly disgusted, and I was taken aback because I found him to be rude. But he had a point. There were no traditional elements to her dress. Sure, it was blingy and looked good on stage, but there were no Celtic knots or any other design work paying homage to Ireland on her dress. Her current dress is covered in knotwork, although I still wouldn't consider the dress traditional. None of the dresses I'm seeing on OC dancers is. We've gotten away from what ID is supposed to be about.
