Thanks to all who replied. I have established a dialog with Frank who maintains the http://www.goliath-veteranen-club.de site. He has been most helpful and has the patience of a saint, since my German language skills are nonexistent and I must rely on Google translate. He too is of the opinion that the car is a late '58 based on the VIN. According to him, only another 107 were made after mine before the body style was changed. He also agrees with the turn signal arrangement, and refers to the little Isabella style lights as the "Bright Boobs of Borgward". Too funny...

At any rate, the adventure continues with the latest quest being an attempt to locate a proper carburetor. Anyone have a spare Solex 32 PICB laying around?
