Hi MG,
Thankyou for your advice.

Youth Lead is run by OzGreen Australia. OzGreen was established in 1992 and is a non profit organisation, with staff and projects receiving a number of awards including the Environmental Educators of the Year Award (1998).

The program is available to all young people (aged 15-30), to become part of the National Network of 180 YouthLEADers. It goes for 3 days and it offers space and time to focus on your dreams and goals. Once action plans have been designed, you have follow up meetings after the three day workshop and support is provided by OzGreen and also through local experienced adults that are recruited and trained as mentors, in order to fulfill these plans for the local community and beyond to build a life-sustaining society.

This leadership program is presented in 5 states of Australia. Workshops coming up in 2006:

Devonport, Tasmania 27-29 Jan
Sydney's Northern Beaches 3-5 March
Central Victoria 7-9 April
Alice Springs 21-23 April
SE Queensland 28-30 April

Sponsors already supporting the program are Vodafone Australia Foundation as the principle sponsor, Melbourne, Tas and Northern Beaches supported by PricewaterhouseCoopers Foundation. Northern Beaches are additionally supported by Sydney Catchment Management Authority, Manly Council, Lane Cove Council, Willoughby Council and North Sydney Council. We are currently seeking co-sponsors for our other programs.

I hope that has answered your questions and if you have any further inquiries, please don't hesitate to send me an email or contact the OzGreen Environmental Education Officer - Wendy Hopkins at whopkins@ozgreen.org.au. Or you can find out more information at this website http://www.ozgreen.org.au/youthlead/

Thankyou for your time!

Courtney Seeto..
