I have a one year old male budgie and thought it would be a nice christmas present to buy a baby female budgie for him. I was told to get another cage and put them side by side..to let them get to know each other. They seemed very interested in each other. - but when l put them in the same cage my older male budgie is very aggressive (pecking at her beak, preening the top of her head..alost mauling her). She doesn't run away, but l put them back into separate cages because the male wouldn't stop his behaviour. Need help and suggestions....anyone have some ideas for me?
