This is a small year as far as numbers go and a weak one as far as competition goes. Which really means it could be anyone’s game to come out swinging. My guess is top 5 SHOULD be guaranteed to Emily Randon and Jordan, Waddell, as they made it last year. I count Kaitryana Leinbach and Meagan Crews in there with them — both previously in top 10 and both strong enough to compete with the other two in top 5. Meagan beat Emily at watermelon; food for thought. I expect Emily to fall down from her fixture as 2nd runner up honestly. Could Jordan fall completely out? She must have a stellar interview and her talent is clearly stellar compared to our other dancers but i didn’t get that “It Factor” from her last year and was quite surprised to see her in the top 5 over some others honestly. She was clearly the weakest of that group, especially based on her OSQ. iI like her but I’m not sold yet. But that leaves at least one spot wide open. Top 10 SHOULD include Hannah Teutsch, J’Lynn Henderson, Courtney Hammons, as they made it last year. I’d be on the lookout for Hammons to break the 5. She’s strong and steadily improving her stage presence. People who have caught my eye: Monica Whitman — talent isn’t the strongest but she’s definitely improved (I’ve seen her since teen) and now has a lot of resources as ULM plus she won the newcomer award last year. Allison Newton — she needs some guidance but lord is she talented and articulate. Ambria Terrell — I was at ULM and she had a lot of potential; I think she’s young but watch out for her. Alyssa Garner — needs help with song selections for talent but overall has a good presence about her that I like. Sydney Jack — won in the sweeps and I believe competed at St. Tammany before that; very well spoken. Amaya Sweeney — lots of potential there. I don’t think anything is garunteed to anyone at this point. The entire game has changed without swimsuit and more emphasis on talent. And there’s too many newbies to make any sure fire predictions.
