Watched most of the game and it was a nail biter to the end. American wouldn't go away but Lehigh pulled it out.
Fans seemed psyched but it was not a sell-out with the cheap seats noticeably empty. Crowd noise sounded solid and the game was well played. I kept saying to myself - SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT THE HART - we can beat both these teams. A post-game prediction on air was they would get a 15th seed.
Everything else aside, I just looked at the boxscore on the Lehigh website. The attendance is listed as 3668. My recollection is that Stabler Arena has a seating capacity of at least 5,100 for basketball. I couldn't find the capacity after a quick look at the Lehigh site. The seats that I saw vacant were at the end courts, in the highest bleachers. In any event if the championship crowd was 1,500 short of capacity it's not the best news for the PL tourney set-up next year. Here's a team that hasn't been to the NCAA tournament since 1988. This is what they draw? In fairness, classes resume tomorrow after spring break but would that have brought in 1,500 more?

The reason was there was a snowstorm that afternoon and I know many who didn't want to trek up the hill. I had Direct TV and it was out all afternoon, so I don't even have a tape of the game.
