Of the academic peers listed in the article, not one is Jesuit. If the author is suggesting that HC is competing for students these days with Smith, Oberlin, and Middlebury instead of Georgetown, BC, and Fordham, then there's a flaw in the reasoning right from the start.

Actually, I think that by positioning Holy Cross in the list with our peers (highly selective, national liberal arts colleges), it enhances our identity as the only Jesuit institution in the United States exclusively dedicated to undergraduate education. This in turn aids us in our competition with Georgetown, BC, and Fordham, because it emphasizes what makes Holy Cross unique, different from them, and more desirable for an undergraduate.
